Vienna: Those of you who have discussed unsigned bands with me recently will know how much I have been looking forward to seeing Vienna play again. I am a personal fan of Vienna, as a result of their previous performance at the End of Term 1 BIMM gig at Komedia. Once again, I was blown away by them and their incredible sound. They involved a cellist in their performance, which successfully created an epic sound – the breakdown was especially momentous.

There are only three letter that I can use to describe this band “W O W”. I cannot fault this band at all, everything about them was brilliant! I particularly loved that they were using complicated 7/8 rhythms but making it sound easy on the ears. The lead singers voice was beautiful and distinctive. They left me wanting to hear more. Vienna are a 4 piece group of fledgling professional musicians, delving deeply into their personal creative spectrum to create A distinct sound, heavily influenced by the affluent song-writing of bands like Radiohead, the complex Jazz progressions of The Cinematic Orchestra, and the delay ridden textures of Oceansize.
This melting pot of grandiose writing styles shows the true burning ambition of these naturally talented young men, combined with an exceptional live show, makes this act a force to be reckoned with.
Currently writing for their début full length release, and playing shows around the south of England, these guys are set to develop into a great original act, with a bright future ahead.
