Weatherground

BandRockAlternative

music that feels true, no matter what the genre or sub-genre may be.

Biography

The birth of Weatherground can be traced back to when guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Jae met keyboardist David in the greater Los Angeles area in 2004. Originally called The Return, Jae and David worked hard on a demo for over a year that laid the groundwork for their unique sound of electro inspired indie rock. At the dawn of 2005 drummer Tommy joined the fold as he worked with Jae and David to turn the demo into a living, breathing band. By the summer of 2005 bassist Sir Cassidy Greenwood joined the group and the foundation for Weatherground was set. After a year of gigs, constant rehearsal, Weathergound is set to bring their sound to those searching for a great musical adventure.

Lyrics

Lead Story

Written By: Jae Choe

The story of the year.
Theres no one left to fear
The story of our time.
There’s no one left to die.

Everyone wants a piece of me.
All in all it feels the same.
All these drunken faces out of control
Everyone standing up, looking for the fight.

The story of my life.
Its in these eyes.

When everyone is gone.
Feeling of loneliness subside.
With no one left, nothing has changed.
Someone is left here telling lies again.

The story of my life.
Its in these eyes.

Your time is comin man.
Oh but I couldn’t care

All of these people
They’re running in place.
They’ll wonder what happened here…
My smiling face.

Musings

Written By: Jae Choe

On the other side ive been steppin up man,
Been meeting every challenge with a smile
But this time, ive been thinking about giving up on every
Form of this communication.
Its been a while since ive been trapped in my head
Unable to break through and see the sun
In the sky
How it sets in my sights and lights your eyes on fire with the truth
Does it exist?
Every piece of information coming through wire is a lie
From a man
With a heart so dark, blood of youth on his hands
Oh god,
I cant go on.
When will this man look up into the stars and say its done.
The end has come
No more kids to spare and we live in despair

Now forever everyone will remember the times, the times that you lied.
Call me a traitor to your son and your savior but the day I die ill shine

On another plane
Spending so much time making ends that I know that im trapped
In this game
If everybody is the same then everybody is insane
Why don’t I,
Just fall asleep and dream away that everythings allright and im fine.
And nothings wrong.
But now im wide awake and I see the sun oh~

Now forever everyone will remember the times, the times that you lied.
Call me a traitor to your son and your savior but the day I die ill shine
Oh all the ways that your trying to play with my head man
Its all fun and games
Find me a traitor in a nation of slaves and ill show you a man whos got it made

On the other side,
Someday you will pay for the fear that you put in my heart
So today, the shit starts.

Oh, Im stuck in the middle of something I cannot control
These words, nothing more than a riddle, a love song stuck in reverse.
The prayer, that you’re moving to action.
Inaction the rattle of curse.
The verse, you will always remember,
Now reenter into the world…..

TALK IS CHEAP

Indie King

Written By: Jae Choe

The underground is safe and sound
Run my the indie kids.
The underground is safe and sound
Ruled by the indie kids

You did it by yourself
With nobody’s help.
You did by yourself
And for nobody else.

Don’t stop speaking your mind or you’ll never ever
Get to shine, you’ll make a dime but you will never ever
Turn this motherfucker around and you will never ever
Get to make another sound, they shut you up forever.
That took some waking up.

Stuck on You

Written By: Jae Choe

All these rules, I look into your window
Look into the life of someone who had ruined mine
Stuck on my nails no evidence and no suspicion.
They’re searching for a soul they will never find.
Started believing what I told the police
Started believing that my stories were true
Buried in the backyard of my mind all weekend,
So distracted with a toke or two.

But I~
Im stuck on you.
A little too much
For my own good.
So ill see you soon.

Im feeling sick inside but I don’t wanna let on
Can’t let them know they sit where your heart beats or I’m done
So hold on to the past, and let go of the rest
And hang on and on and on

Cuz I~
Im stuck on you.
A little too much
For my own good.

Im feeling sick inside but I don’t wanna let on
Can’t let them know they sit where your heart beats or I’m done
So hold on to the past, and let go of the rest
And hang on and on and on

Started thinking maybe I should have just run out of town.
Left to hide somewhere, someplace you know where I cant be found
But for now I just stay and I tell myself
You’re gone I’m not done
You’re gone I’m not done
