"10 Young Local Artists to Watch For This Year"

Hailing from Fort Worth, Weather King has been riding a steady wave of success even before the release of their breakthrough “33” EP. The piano-based progressive rock quintet has worked its way up from humble beginnings at the Fort Worth School of Rock to receive two accolades at the 2017 Wildflower Festival Battle of the Bands (Best Overall and Best Bass Player). The band also enjoys amicable relationships with numerous young Dallas artists, having shared stages with Sweet Chaos, Scarlett Fever, and The Problem.

A Weather King song usually finds itself structured on a tight foundation set by keyboardist Andy Zukoski and drummer Ian Jeffrey, with Nicole Barbeau (vocals), Trent Cruickshank (guitar), and Jack Zukoski (bass) laying down their own intricate parts. Weather King is a band that has put maximum effort into every step of the process- composing, recording, and even performing- and never missed a beat doing so. Its members have crafted a wonderfully unique style, impressing its ever-growing audience with their eager commitment to it.

Bio

Like in life, extreme youth in music can be a blessing or a curse. In the case of Weather King it is definitely a blessing. While a band of thirty-somethings appeals to thirty somethings, a band of 15 to 17 year-olds that plays with all of the energy, technical ability, and showmanship of thirty-somethings appeals to all ages, from aspiring children to adults. The members of Weather King have extensive experience performing at clubs, festivals, parties, benefits, and everything in between--by the age of ten. Since, then, the gigs have gotten better and the pay has gone up, but they will still amaze you.
