Firefly Lounge: On the one hand, the Bellingham music scene, with its parallel affection for the genres of loud rock and alt-country, is my particular paradise. On the other, I am less enamored of Belingham’s ongoing and enduring love of Ween. It seems that into every occasion a little Ween must fall, and never is that more true than when the occasion has Ween in its very name. The only question is where the Ween tribute band will appear. This year, the lucky locale is the Firefly Lounge, for its aptly named Hallo-Ween celebration, starring Weener (because I am a child, that makes me laugh) and Deerman. Even for an Oct. 31 with a whole lot going on, this show is sure to be packed, so get there early and stake out your spot.

Weener is the West Coast's premiere Ween tribute band established in 2004. Weener channels the music of Ween, no holds barred from any stage they take. For more than 15 years they've honed their chops and worked on building their repertoire. Capable of playing four and a half hours a night, having played albums in their entirety & with over 80 Ween songs in their arsenal they can play songs that even Ween have never attempted live. In the spirit of the brothers Ween, full band improvisation and a command over the audience often leaves fans of the band begging for more at the end of the night.
