Queercore meets Riot-GrrrL
We Float is a rad queercore band from California. They added riot-grrrLifes myspace page and so I took a look at their page and that's when the music started playing. I was honestly instantly stoked.
We Float just released their first EP titled "Fusees & Torpedos." With seven rad songs that sound hella Riot-grrrl, these three ladies make some amazing music.
Queercore is in a way the new Riot-grrrl. Its bands expressing themselves how they want and not giving a Fuck.
One of my Fave songs on the album is "Til the end" which starts with some amazing bass lines that makes your Body just start to move OR DANCE!
Then there's "This Embrace" which lyrics make you think "why do we use love for a crutch?". It makes me think of every break up I've ever had and all the thoughts I felt this song talks about.
There's one song on the album that screams RioT-GrrrL! And that is the song "What they teach" which talks about the media/police and how what they teach is violence.

We Float took to the stage with coordinated outfits and matching tats and proceeded to tear things up in the best power-trio tradition. Standing in a sea of lesbians, we all got rocked by a replete-with-choreography Sonic Youth "Kool Thing" cover that finished We Float's set. "Fear of a female planet," indeed- I hope the LGBTQ crowd doesn't get jealous when We Float starts drawing wider audiences with their sheer rock spectacle. (RS) - L.A. Record

Bio
"we float" was born from the ashes of local electronic favorites Addicted2Fiction in October 2006. After spending the last four years immersed in all things electronic, the girls decided it was time to go back to their roots and just rock out as a three-piece.
"we float" released their debut EP "Fusees & Torpedos" on their longtime label Heartcore Records in December 2007. They are currently back in the studio writing tracks for their upcoming full length to be released in Spring of 2009. Their music has been featured on the G4 Television Network & "My First Pony" film documentary.
