Anything worth having demands hard work and sacrifice. Just ask Staten Island New York’s  newest superstar-in-the-making Wellie Jackson. Being a stand-up comedian might have been the last thing on his mind growing up the former college basketball standout turned to comedy after a season ending injury. Wellie found comedy in 2009 while attending college encouraged by friends and family he turned to a friend who was an establish National Comic who helped Wellie get his 1st show on the New York Comedy circuit. After his 1st show he was booked for another show at another New York City club which is where he learned his style of saying “exactly what everyone is thinking but is scared to say” would soon be a staple in the comedy business.

After making appearances on Mtv’s “Totally Clueless”, Sirius Xm radio as well as writing for Mtv’s “Money from strangers” (season 2) and various other media outlets with only being in comedy for a short time Wellie is recognized as one of the brightest up and coming stars in the comedy world. He has won various comedy competitions and Comedy Festivals. Wellie has traveled the east coast and has found himself as the opening act for Comedians that he has looked up to his most of his life such as Tracy Morgan, Colin Kane, and Tony Roberts.

Now days Wellie has the longest running comedy show (The Funny man Comedy Jam) in his hometown of Staten Island Ny, which he Produces and host where he brings comedians from across the country to perform for his hometown crowd. He also travels the country and as well as a regular in some of New York city’s most prestigious comedy clubs.
