Bio
We have been playing together since 1991, when Glauber came to the United States from his native country, Brazil. We have developed a very intrincate improvisational style where each musician is free to inspire and challenge the other one, and we never play a song twice the same way. We feel that the result is one where the total is great than the sum of the parts.
Jack has his roots in Broadway and Gospel, and the trumpet was his first instrument. He has fronted a number of Rock'n'Roll and R&B bands, such as Eyes of the Wind, Unshod, and The Grateful Living. He's equally good on guitar, piano or electronic keyboards and sequencers. He also sings, dances and, on occasion, mimes.
Glauber grew up listening to chorinho and bossa nova in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His first instrument was the classical guitar, but he eventually settled on flute. He is a voracious improviser and profficient on a variety of Brazilian and American musical styles. He has recently added mandolin to his bag of musical tricks, and recently has been hanging out at the Mandolin Cafe Web site, where the conversation is great but the coffee is horrible.
