Well Wisher is 4/5 of Hail Brethren and one member of Manchester's long-running post-rockers Day For Airstrikes. From what I've seen so far, the new band has a higher level of both 'twiddle' and party energy, which I suppose puts them amongst the likes of Algernon Cadwallader, (rather more surprisingly) Vialka and (sigh) Minus the Bear, but that something that made their previous band Hail Brethren! special is still there. I caught them the other night and wow, the energy - a) came from a completely honest place and b) in level was just off the scale - "party emo" didn't seem like such an oxymoron all of a sudden. - http://storminateacuparchive.blogspot.com/

Our debut self-released 7" EP is set for release in April 2010, with a split 7" with Canadian noise-barrens Polina in June 2010.
The summer will see us preparing our debut LP ready for release in winter 2010.
So far, songs from our debut 7" have been played on a few independent stations in the north, but we have national radio in our sights!

Well Wisher formed in early 2009 after our previous bands all sort of dissipated at the same time. We bonded over a common love of music in every form - being open minded was the thing that brought us all together! Our aim is simple - play songs that make us happy, have a good time doing it, if it makes other people happy too then that is the best!
Hopefully we can instill some of the elements of our favourite bands - whether it's Steely Dan or Braid, Mew or Black Sabbath - and deliver it with our own brand of athletic party action!
