We Loyal was founded mid 2008 and therefore are at the beginning of their time.
After the musical journey from Basel to Liverpool, from which the critical acclaimed debut-EP „Obstacles“ emerged, over 40 shows in Switzerland and Germany with international artists such as Foals, These New Puritans, We Have Band, Wolf Parade a.o., won contests, a 7inch Single and a few Remixes, We Loyal arrived in the year 2011.
And this starts exciting. In search of inspiration, the band spends time in New York for a few Gigs and climbes the Swiss Alps to find new songs, before they return to Basel to record their new sounds with their producer David Berger (Outfit / Shadow Cabinet).
The songs are influenced by various settings and places of origin, playfully combining analog synthesizers with striving beats and dark vocals. Bands such as TV on the Radio, Joy Division and Foals leave their traces in this play of light and shadow.
“As we got in touch with the DIY scene in Liverpool we started to realise, that interesting music starts in your head, through your commitment, experimenting in a critical way and your decision to go your way. Our NYC-trip approves this way”, says Sandro Simon. And with these words We Loyal take their fate into their own hands, from recording and mixing to artwork and merchandise.
We Loyal are Ben Kuster (Bass, Synths, Vocals), Sandro Simon (Vocals, Guitar, Synths) and Fabian Trümpy (Drums, Synths, Vocals).
