We Loyal
After the debut EP Obstacles and concerts near and far, We Loyal present a Double A Side Single, two videos and an innovative release concept.

From Yesterday to Today
Goodbye Basel, hello Berlin – after the release of their debut EP Obstacles, which reached open ears and hearts all across Switzerland and Germany, a 7inch and a few remixes, We Loyal have been driven towards the metropolis. An important, yet not the first step towards the big picture: Already in February 2011 the band browsed through New Yorks vibrant music scene, before, under the sign of retreat, climbing the Swiss Alps to write new songs. Two of them, Arch Of Glass and Reprise (Hymns & Rituals),
recorded in Basel, Berlin and London with producers David Berger and Andrew Hunt (Outfit) are now available, supplemented by two videoclips, shot in the woods
surrounding Basel and in the urban jungle of Berlin.
The way is lined by over 50 shows with artists such as Foals, Wild Beasts, These New Puritans, Active Child a.s.o. and festivals such as m4music, Bad Bonn Kilbi or For Noise.
Light and Shadows

Out into the wilderness or stick to a life underwater? Tying the lyrics to their own biography of leaving the acquainted fishing grounds and tasting exotic fruits beyond the alp ridge, We Loyal set up their tents in between the stormy poles of receptiveness and isolation, between overcoming and recollection. Not just in a lyrical, but also in a musical context, We Loyal sound the space between these poles: Once transparently, once densely arranged, enchanting choirs enmesh Sandro Simon's haunting vocals, far out noise-walls take over from striving beats; playful synthesizers face horns and guitars that are lost in reverie. A kaleidoscopic play of light and shadow emerges.

From Today to a New Tomorrow – Let’s Call It a Try
Likewise to their approach to music, We Loyal try to search for suprising and individual ways of presenting their music.
The two songs will be released digitally to download for free, as well as a limit edition hand-printed bag (Songbag) and thus, a digital mass production is combined with
analogue individuality. The download code, which makes music, videos, artwork, as well as in depth making-of
footage of We Loyal accessible, consists of singularly printed phrases of lyrics. In duplicates produced, they limit the edition of the bag to 80 pieces. Simultaneously,
they bind two buyers to each other. Apart from artwork and lyric lines, there will also be a QR code on the bags, which will make it possible to stream the songs via smartphone and, if requested, offer the possibility to send them to a personal email account.

Therefore, music, the core!, stays accessible at no charge, while the possibility remains for further interested individuals to catch a glimpse at the creation process of the
songs, the artworks, the concept for the release and the production of the bags. Hence, We Loyal explore new paths of music marketing and present a sustainable product, that can do by far more than a piece of plastic or vinyl without contradicting the spirit of the digital era. Let’s call it a try - relaxed and perhaps a bit naïve.But we’re young and dare to do so.
