"WE MOVE WALLS MAKE LOCAL ART AND LOCAL MUSIC COMBINE"

In a fitting decision, Perth indie rockers, We Move Walls have decided to launch their latest single ‘Poor Old Pat’ – a song inspired by an encounter with one of Perth homeless – in a venue that itself has no home. Currently in its second residency at 224a William Street Northbridge, Occupy Pop-Up is a temporary art gallery that uses it walls to showcase local artists while at the same time lending its space to events such as art games, movie nights and auctions but never before, a launch.

Supported by some of the choicest Perth bands going around including: Nevada Pilot, Man the Clouds and Lucidity, Saturday October 12th will see We Move Walls use that space to launch the follow up to their 2012 self titled debut.

Bio

Opening with Parasite - a guitar-driven tale of rampage that has both the snarling fuzz of Seattle and the ballsy Marshall-stack rock of ‘70s Detroit - We Move Walls’ debut EP comes through the gate with all guns blazing. As the EP rolls on through the jangly and breezy Wild And Free, the hypnotic swing of Clouds, and the dreamlike Hills Are Burning, it becomes apparent just how versatile and panoramic this band’s view of rock’n’roll is. For We Move Walls, music is essentially a time machine, and a record collection is as owing to J Mascis as it is to Jimmy Page.

The mark We Move Walls make on the world of rock’n’roll they are immersed in as fans is similarly and beautifully unprejudiced. Each song can reflect any number of artists, styles or decades to the point where eventually it reflects none at all... it is such a unique interpretation of its influences that is simply something new entirely. It is punk rock, it is entrancing indie, it is the Doors, it is a horror movie soundtrack... and so on forever.

Shepherded by the reverb-laden voice of Reef Selleck, We Move Walls are a heavy band even when their music is at its quietest. The underlying tension that runs through their music - the promise that something could explode at any second - never leaves.

Recorded and mixed by upcoming producer Corey Marriott, We Move Walls’ debut EP is a beautiful, dark and truly inspired collection of songs. Based in Perth and beginning to make waves outside of their own city, We Move Walls are standing at the beginning of something big, and it sounds fucking awesome.
