Bio

Wendolee was born in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico on January 14th 1983. At the age of 8 she began her career as a composer and singer (singer/songwriter). She has completed two degrees at the “Faculty of Performing Arts” at the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon. She is a graduate in both Dramatic Arts and Contemporary Dance. She has been an actress in musicals such as “Jesus Christ, Superstar” with the Unicorn Theater Group. She has also been a principal dancer in various music videos, including “Stereo International” for the rock group “Plastilina Mosh”. In June 2002 she became one of the 14 final contestants from over 50,000 hopefuls to take part in “La Academia: First Generation,” the most important reality TV show in Mexican history. Being a part of this successful generation, Wendolee went on an international tour of over 60 cities in Mexico, Guatemala and the USA. She performed on such great stages as the Auditorio Nacional de Mexico in Mexico City, where she played in front of over 10,000 people for 8 consecutive dates. In addition, she accompanied her Generation in giving a concert at the Zocalo Capitalino, with recognition given by members of the local government for having over 120,000 people attend a single performance. She also performed at “El Domo” in Guatemala, which reached its capacity twice in one day; the first time in its history. She also starred in 4 concerts in the “Universal Amphitheater” in Los Angeles, California and other important venues in Las Vegas, Nevada, Houston Texas, San Jose California, Guadalajara Jalisco, and Monterrey Nuevo Leon, amongst others. 10 tracks produced through the reality show can be found in her repertoire, as well as two others as a guest singer for “Mi Sabor” by Hector, produced by Latin Warner Music and “Regueehop” by Los Chicos de Barrio produced by Warner Music. There is one more track where she made use of her songwriting skills in collaboration with DJ Bobo for the song entitled “Las Vatas” for the “Chihuaha” album, produced by Universal Music. Extremely talented and charismatic, Wendolee burst onto the television scene as a host and reporter for various programs for Television Azteca, such as: El Recreo, Cada Mañana, Con Sello de Mujer, Los Telejuegos, and Gente con Chispa. She can also be seen as an actress in “Lo que Callamos Las Mujeres”, and you can get to know her life in the biographical documentary called “Con un Nudo en la Garganta” (With a lump in the throat). In May 2004 she was chosen as the new talent of Channel 54, Azteca America, as a co-host in the programs “Detras de la Academia” (Behind the Academy), “Detras de los Famosos” (Behind the Stars), and “Mujer Today” (Women Today). She is currently working on her album as a solo artist in which she will capture all the passion she feels for music and the art of the stage.
