Wendy DeWitt is influenced by the greats of Chicago blues piano, and the best of boogie woogie. Hadda Brooks, the original Queen of the Boogie handed over the mantle to keep the groove going and having worked with Big Joe Duskin, Hank Ballard, Otis Rush, and Steve Freund Wendy is dedicated to straight up blues and boogie woogie. With Kirk Harwood on drums this duo creates an intricate and always grooving sound that amounts to more than the sum of it's parts. Kirk's long experience with Norton Buffalo in arranging and approaching songs with a fresh angle give this duo's sound a wide pallet of color, dynamics and feel. Songwriting plays an important part in the duo's success and keep the show fresh and energetic along the vein of Bonnie Raitt and Marcia Ball.
