Bio

Music has always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. I loved singing in church and couldn’t wait for my choir classes to learn my Alto part for the many performances through my years in school. I started writing lyrics in high school to get that crush I had on some boy off my chest without actually telling him – the indirect way if you know what I mean. I didn’t play guitar or piano or anything at the time, so I just made up the melody in my head and I can remember singing it to my friends during gym class running laps. I continued pursuing ways to enhance my musical experience in college by offering mine and my sister Tiffany’s talents singing the national anthem for many of the collegiate sporting events at Kent State University. We had done a little national anthem singing at some high school games so we took our skills to college.

In my early 20s I was able to assist some musical friends singing on their CDs and getting some experience working in a studio and mess around with some friends in a couple garage bands – that literally didn’t get out of the garage. Through all of these years of course continuing to sing at family and friends weddings and beating up my fingers learning to play an acoustic guitar. In 1999, I had been singing at a friends wedding when a guy named Chris Rembold asked me and my friend who got married to come check out a new project he was working on with some mutual buddies. Chris was the drummer in the band and thought that we could add some background vocals to their original music. That band’s name was Otis & The Shoreway Saints. For the next 7 years I was a member of that very band. My education of music grew in leaps and bounds. I was able to utilize the basic skills I had learned as a song-writer, guitar player and performer and enhance them further with the help of these very talented musicians.

Leaving the OSS project, the thought for me was what’s next? Try to hack this out on my own. Take the original songs that Saints had helped me perform and write and keep stummin out my own tunes. These last couple years that’s what I’ve been doing, trying to search for my niche. Over all of these years, I had been singing on commercials, doing open mic nights and songwriters in the rounds to name a few.

For the past year I have been putting my first solo album together. Getting this album together has been a long time coming. Especially with the continuing support of my tremendous family and amazing and talented friends along with a little faith that God had a plan somehow for me…here I am…sharing the pains and joys of my life to this point through my first solo CD, Frame By Frame.
