"0.2 Review"

“This is a band well worth putting some effort into backing, I want to see what they can achieve with making music a full-time focus and with the backing of amazing production. So, though other new bands are available, I would throw your weight behind We’re Only Afraid of NYC”
Clive Onion on EP 0.2 - Clive Onion

"We Lived Here Review"

“Consistently a band that I enjoy, We Lived Here is no change there. Quite downbeat and mellow for the most part, with explosions of furious noise breaking out just when you are sitting comfortably”
Aye Tunes on We Lived Here - Ayetunes

"0.3 Review"

“Like all good things We’re Only Afraid of NYC will grow and leave poor word monkeys like me behind. With a slot at Reading/Leeds sorted and a week of Radio 1 airplay on its way, they are set to take root in the general public and have proper writers at Drowned in Sound and NME writing their praise. To be fair, I cant wait for the very deserved day.”
Clive Onion on EP 0.3 - Clive Onion

"Feature"

“To put it simply, it's stunning, I literally had one of those jaw dropping moments were I had to take a step back and appreciate quite how good the music I was listening to was.”
Peenko on EP 0.2 - Peenko

"BBC Introducing Tip of the week"

Drummer Peter Onneby, bassist Mark Mulholland and guitarist Kenny Finnigan got their first start at Glasgow's West End Festival before a series of promising EP reviews saw them catch the attention of 6 Music's Lauren Laverne and our very own Vic Galloway - BBC

"12 bands to Watch at Reading and Leeds"

“this band is one of bonny Scotland's hottest properties”

"we're only afraid of NYC Feature"

“Although as a band they’re only a year old, Glasgow-based trio We’re Only Afraid Of NYC are already pretty hard to pigeonhole. While the tracks on their recently-released third free online EP veer towards heavy melodic, layered compositions, they’re the sort of band who are liable to break into a stripped down acoustic cover of Tom Waits’ 'Fannin Street' at a moment’s notice.”
The Scotsman – On The Radar - Scotsman newspaper

"Lauren Laverne The Guardian"

"We get sent a lot of listener demos," she says. "There was a great band from Glasgow called We're Only Afraid of NYC, and we gave away one of their tracks as a free download. I think they were quite surprised, but we listened to it in the office and said, 'What is this? It's amazing! Let's give it away today!”
Lauren Laverne on Where We Go At Night, The Guardian - The Guardian
