Wesley Nelson

I have grown up in a christian household, always went to church. When I was little the best part of my week was being able to get up on Sunday mornings and go to church! When I got older I began to strike an interest in music. I always loved watching my sister play guitar and my dad play piano. When I was about fourteen years old I began taking guitar lessons. During this time my sister was battling leukemia or cancer. God placed music in my life at this moment in my life because it was my gift that he gave me and that it kept my mind at ease. My sister was honestly my best friend we did everything together, she was also my youth pastor. Before my sister died we were sitting on my bed playing "I Will Rise" by Chris Tomlin. That night she said, "Wesley, I want you to play this at my funeral." without even thinking I replied with absolutely! I played at her funeral, this being the first time I ever played in front of people and only having two guitar lessons. I later went on to play at these events called Relay for Life. I have been playing those at different locations for the past three years. I am now seventeen years old and lead worship for the youth at my church and for our congregation. I have just finished my debut EP and it will be released on August 31, 2015! Hope to see you guys soon and stay connected with me through all social media!
