Tell us your history: The formation of Westbound 21 took place at Banita Creek Hall in Nacogdoches. Cody and Max were playing acoustic shows at Banita Creek, and one day they decided to join forces to create a band that would shake up the Texas Country scene. Lyndsey, Ronnie and Nick later joined the band, which took Westbound 21 to the next level. The band travels all over Texas performing at mud parks, dancehalls and festivals. Westbound 21 has won several titles, including “Best Country Band in East Texas.” Even though the guys have found success, they always remember where they have been and where they come from. Before and after a show, you’ll see the guys meeting and talking to fans. If it’s your birthday or anniversary, be ready to be brought on stage. They really strive to make their concerts a personal experience in every way.

Why should people come to your show? You should come to a Westbound 21 show because you’ll have the most fun humanly possible at a concert! They don’t just sing songs — they sing songs that will touch you at an emotional level. You’ll get lost in the music, and for those couple of hours you’ll forget all the troubles of the world. A Westbound 21 show is more than just singing songs, it is an action-packed performance. The guys have so much energy on stage and flowing through their instruments that it electrifies the audience. And when you think it doesn’t get any better than this, here comes “the Jam” which takes it to the next level. I’m not going to tell you what “the Jam” consists of, you’ll just have to come and find out!

Why should people pick up your album? After experiencing a Westbound 21 concert, you’ll be compelled to buy an album because you’ll want to bring the party home with you.

Bio

When Cody Wayne completed his tour in the Marines, he came back home to Nacogdoches, Texas to start his music career. Cody, a native Texan, found early success while performing acoustic shows at Banita Creek Hall. During the same time period, Max McRuiz was attending SFA University in Nacogdoches and was also performing acoustic shows at Banita Creek Hall. Later that year, Cody and Max joined forces to create Westbound 21. Shortly thereafter, Lyndsey Torrez joined the band as bassist and Ronnie Godfrey joined the band as the drummer.

The band began touring the East Texas area and quickly made a name for themselves. In fact, the band gained the attention of Nashville legend Neal McCoy. Neal had Westbound 21 open for his band and was later interviewed for the spotlight introduction to Westbound 21s EPK. The band has also performed with Texas giants Kevin Fowler, Eli Young, Bart Crow, Colt Ford, Casey Donahew, and many more artists. Most recently, Westbound 21 picked up a sponsorship from the East Texas premiere radio station, 105.7 KYKX. Thanks to Charlie ODouglas and KYKX, the band has the opportunity to go live on the radio prior to big events to build enthusiasm and excitement for the upcoming show. Through the support and vote of thousands of fans, Westbound 21 also gained the title of Best Country Band in East Texas.
