Bio

Westerly Sisters is the fusion of guitar, vocals, violin, and viola played by sisters Fahlon and Ramiah Smith. By blending their West Coast Folks with their Sibling Harmony Roots, Westerly performs their original compositions, based on roots, folk, and country, with passion and fun.
Ramiah Smith (guitar, vocals) was born and raised in Oceanside. She is currently a student of the Criminology program at Vancouver Island University. From a young age Ramiah enjoyed trying any instrument she can get her hands on. She started playing marimba at the age of 6, and she now teaches marimba and performs with Marimba Jangano. Ramiah has also sung in choirs, and enjoys writing her own music.    Fahlon Smith (violin, viola, mandolin, vocals) has an extensive background in music performance. Over the past decade, she has developed a career as a solo performer as a violinist, and plays marimba in bands in the Oceanside area. She currently plays with orchestras across BC, and has played shows and festivals across North America, including Squamish Valley Music Festival, Islands Folk Fest, and the Vancouver Island Music Festival to name a few. Fahlon graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance (viola) from the University of Victoria in April of 2016.
Blending harmonies, rhythm, and fun, Westerly plays original compositions inspired by roots, country, pop, and folk. Putting emphasis on their sibling enriched harmonies, the duo has performed at numerous events. Most recently, they shared the stage with Shari Ulrich and Sam Hurrie at the Vancouver Island Music Festival.
