The West Macqueen Street Band was created from the heart and soul of guitarist Rick Simkins. Ricks writings were influenced by the music he group up with.Paul McCartney and the beatles were his first love then came the sounds of Tommy Johnston and Patrick Simmons of the Doobie Brothers.You can hear the harmonies, melodies and rifts in Rick's style of writing. Bill Sellers brings his Yes and Chicago drumming influences and his unique right/left handed drumming style into the band while Gary Turner brings his aggressive slap bass playing to the band.This gives the band it's unique rhythm section sound.Scott Wilson (sax) and Kevin Stratton (keyboard) bring their jazz and big band influences to the group. Both musicians are outstanding soloist and can make their playing speak to the audience with passion and emotion.The rhythm section of the band makes the sound of the band , Scott and Kevin take it to the next level, you than bring to the mix three incredible vocalist (Jenny Rose, Tracey Meyer, Michelle Lynn) who have a range of octaves you can't believe and and who all have their own unique stlyes.When you blend all these components together you have the West MacQueen Street Band.
