"Bisbee, Arizona"

Bret Austin, Dan Simonis, and Rob and Mike Page are all Bisbee business owners. They formed Old Bisbee Music to bring in music events and to promote the town of Bisbee itself worldwide. "It's only three words, Music, Culture, Company," says Bret Austin, "Our goal is having Bisbee become known as a music community, like Austin or Seattle...a regional one." One of the ways they're accomplishing this is with the infamous "Bisbee Bus" that road trips all over the US, spreading the word, and sometimes bringing along Bisbee musicians to showcase their talent.
Earlier this year, the Bisbee Bus rode through Texas with 400 CDs of local accomplished artists, and found themselves on quite an adventure. Bisbee artists, The West Texas Millionaires, (yes, they're from Arizona but definitely sound Texas!) accompanied them on this trip and found themselves "accidently" on air at KFAN in Fredericksburg, Texas' premier Americana radio station, and an impromtu performance on stage in Luckenbach Texas (A miracle in itself, as it's almost impossible to play at Luckenbach unless you're from Texas).
"We stopped at KFAN to drop off a West Texas Millionaires CD," says Bret Austin. "It was 3:30 p.m., we pull up and we're standing out in the lobby. We say, 'We're here to drop off a CD,' and the DJ says, 'Come into the booth, give me your cd, I will load it up.' She loads it up, plays a track, then tells us to go get our stuff to do a couple songs on the air and apologized for not getting us on the air earlier. Dan (from West Texas Millionaires) said, 'We were just dropping off a cd.' At this point, she realizes we were not the band scheduled to go on, and the other band had never showed up. We accidentally stole the air time, then we drove out to Luckenbach Texas and talked to Abbey and ended up opening for The McKay Brothers. It was a wild, wonderful day."

Bio

The West Texas Millionaires have entertained country music lovers everywhere from New York City to Los Angeles. Based in the South West, the boys travel in their steer horned, tail finned 1957 Cadillac, harking back to a time when working the road had glamour and style. Home is anywhere from Austin to Bakersfield. Rolling off a promotional Texas Tour that included playing famous Texas dance hall Luchenbach and doing some old fashioned live singing on the radio, the Band is back in Tombstone
