Wesu was born in Zimbabwe on May 5th 1981 to a South African father and a Guyanese mother. At age 10 he moved to Barbados to complete his primary and secondary education.
Wesu's interest in music started in 1996 when he taught himself to play the guitar and piano.After gaining popularity on the local music scene he moved to Brighton,England where he sharpened his musical skills and learned the art of music production. It is during this period that he developed his uniquely captivating vocal style. With influences like Stevie Wonder and Al Green his self penned tracks often reflect the true joy and pain of living and loving.
His natural genre is an enchanting blend of Soul and R&B. He is soft spoken and unassuming until he lands on stage where he is totally at home exuding a confidence which draws the audience in and creates an immediate and long lasting bond.
