Bio

Drummer Tom “Goss” Minch had been playing in an all original band with guitarist Jon “Herms” Hermansen and introduced him to long time friend and fellow musician Annette Grover to do a possible “side” project. The three of them clicked immediately and the band Wett was formed. With the addition of keyboardist and guitarist Bob Kennedy and bassist Jim Toff, the band took on an even more versatile personality, covering all musical styles as well as performing a lot of original music.

Annette Grover
Singer/Songwriter/Pianist

Annette Grover was born in the suburbs of Chicago. At an early age she began singing and song writing with the piano as her tool. At the age of 17 she was performing with her brother in various bands, doing some touring across the states. She landed an exclusive recording deal in Nashville under the supervision of Mylan Bogdan (Manager of The Emerald Studio) and Chip Young (Elvis Presley guitar player) of BMG records.
She has written over 60 songs and has recorded in a number of studios. She writes all the music and lyrics for her material and has an exceptional ear for harmonies, performing all vocals on her music in the studios. Her vocals are extremely powerful and very versatile, allowing her so sing many varieties of musical styles. She also brings a very dynamic, high-energy, and animated performance to the stage.

Tom “Goss” Minch
Drummer

Tom was born and raised on the Northwest side of Chicago. He began playing flute at the age of 12 and soon took up the saxophone. He played in a wide variety of bands, both cover and original, playing flute, sax, percussion, and vocals. Soon after, he was called upon to do a lot of recording work, playing saxophone and horn section work with various local bands in Chicago.
Goss also began playing drums with a few different local punk and alternative acts. He had also worked in the studio with singer/songwriter Annette Grover on a lot of her original songs, playing drums as well as the flute and saxophone.

Jon Hermansen (Herm)
Lead Guitar

Herm began playing the violin at age 6. In his teen years he played with several symphony orchestras, while studying the guitar in his spare time. Over the years, he has played guitar with several Chicago based bands, as well as playing violin for many touring bands. He is also an accomplished bass player, and worked building custom bass guitars.
Herm is also a versatile songwriter and has written songs and performed with many cover and original bands on both guitar and bass, as well as being called on for many studio sessions. As a team, Hermansen and singer Annette Grover’s writing styles blend very well, and together they have written some great material.

Bob Kennedy
Guitar/Keyboards

Bob was born and raised in Indiana and moved to Northern Illinois in the late ‘60s. Almost immediately he was in demand, and started playing guitar with various local bands in the area. In the mid 70’s, he started playing keyboards and has played with countless popular local bands. Bob has played just about every venue there was to play in the Midwest, performing virtually every style of music.
He joined Wett in February of 2011, and has become an invaluable member of the band due to his ability to double on the keyboards and both lead and rhythm guitar.

Jim Toff
Bass Guitar

Versatility is one of the keys to electric bassist Jim Toff’s achievements in various musical venues. It is this approach that has led him to a wide range of professional and creative settings. A native of Chicago, Jim grew up with a melting pot of musical influences that the city had to offer. Rock, blues, jazz …you name it, Chicago had it, still does…and Jim has played it all.
As a member of various rock cover bands, he has played in many of the larger Chicago and suburban club and festival venues. Jim’s bass has provided the solid back beat groove necessary for the music to make a statement. His bass style can be described as supportive, sensitive and soulful with a melodic and singing solo voice.
