"It doesn't take long for a good song to get into your head... In The Blink of an Eye a song comes on that you find you know all the words to.. the melody is familar, welcome.. home.. the voice is singing just for you. In The Blink of an Eye, a hit is born. Jana Losey has shared a song with us here at radioioACOUSTIC that sets the pace for true, heartfelt, great acoustic music. In The Blink of an Eye I put the song into the permanent playlist. Can't seem to remember the title of it..."

Bio

We Two Trees debut album “Close to the Truth” most resembles a souped up ‘66 Nova driven on a dusty back road in Upstate New York…..solid, human, uniquely classic, and strangely current.

Jana Losey’s beginnings were rural, she was taught to drive on a John Deer tractor and can still milk a cow with the greatest of ease. She began piano lessons at age 7, saxophone and flute lessons at 11. She attended Ithaca College School of Music where she studied voice, piano, and dance, until her last semester when she dropped out due to a conflict with the administration. Restored of her faith in anarchy, Jana joined a touring performance art group and ended up the lead in a show at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Broadway. Leaving New York after the not so successful run of the Broadway show, Jana hung up her skills and went to school to be a Massage Therapist. She is excited to be back in the biz, and is ever so proud of this album!

Melanie Peters was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA…...on the wrong side of the tracks. Inspired by Charro and an after school program classical guitar performance, she began lessons at age 12. Many bands later, she ended up as the lead guitarist in a riot girl project, Room Fulla Nipsey. RFN was signed to Mosqueeto records, toured extensively in the US, then fell apart wracked with personal issues and loss of funding. Melanie picked herself up, dusted off, and headed to Norway where she toured Europe with almost famous Norwegian songstress, Sarah Nebel. After selling her custom made guitar for airfare home, Mel hung it up for a while to pursue other interests (like not starving to death). She is pleased to be back on track now, making new music, recording (her favorite), and touring.

Jana Losey is an accomplished singer—songwriter, a soft spoken vigilante, and a soulful communicator. Her voice has been described as “soul wrenching”, and her presence as “multi—layered and charismatic”. On “Close to the Truth”, writing collaborator and producer Melanie Peters adds razor sharp guitar platforms where Jana’s brilliant and award winning lyrics jump out and bite you with poetic flow. Melanie’s guitar playing has earned her much studio work, as well as movie and TV soundtracks. Inventing her style like a seven layer pop-cake, she slices alternative rock chordings into sweet little memorable morsels, and sprinkles it with radio-friendly hooks. “Close to the Truth”, is as close to truth as it gets, done in minimalist style with mostly
vocals and guitar. Songs like “Blink of an Eye”, “Bittersweet”, and “Bite the Hand” involve the listener in a personal relationship with the songs, much like Patti Griffin’s “Living with Ghosts”, one of their favorites.

Fans of everything nature and natural, Jana and Melanie have worked to create awareness of alternative medicines, support a non—violent lifestyle, environmental efforts, and hope to one day establish their own
permaculture community. We Two Trees hope to use their music, website (links page!), and touring performances to spread the word about these causes that they so deeply believe in.
