We Were The Fires Of Rome

Reining from Ottawa, Ontario, We Were the Fires of Rome is a melodic, progressive metal band trying to make a splash in the music scene. Taking from a variety of musical influences (such as Trophy Scars, Dance Gavin Dance, Circa Survive, Thrice and The Number Twelve Looks Like You,) We Were the Fires of Rome has spent the last few years composing, recording and performing their 2012 release Live From the Forest Floor (released July 2012). We Were the Fires of Rome offers an energetic, emotion-fueled live performance and has had the honor to play with such bands as Protest the Hero, Fear Before the March of Flames, Today I Caught the Plague and Lifestory: Monologue.

Members of We Were the Fires of Rome also have extensive musical experience on personal levels. Collectively members have various music degrees (musicology, performance and recording), classical training, and an abundance of performance experience. Dave Kastner (guitar/viola) has played viola in the Ottawa Youth Orchestra Academy with the Ottawa Symphony and has been an active viola teacher for several years. In 2011 he was offered to record viola for the 2011 release of the Trophy Scars album Never Born, Never Dead.

We Were the Fires of Rome applies a plethora of experience to create a dynamic, progressive and creative sound, which is currently being channeled into the release of their second album.
