The Landing is a solo artist seeking to turn the struggle of finding one’s place in the Universe into an anthem for the optimistic. From his bedroom studio in Brooklyn, The Landing combines infectious Indie Synth-pop with a classically trained ear for orchestration. He refers to his genre as “Space-pop”, an ode to a style of music popularized by composers of the 1950’s and 60’s, at the height of the Space Race. His sound is eclectic and eccentric, both earthy and otherworldly, interwoven with themes of ambition and the human condition.
Last year, The Landing released his debut EP, We Are, “a stunning EP that dives into many mind-opening questions about life and humanity as a whole” - HillyDilly. This year brings the highly anticipated follow up EP, How Strange to Be (released 6/23/15), with the single Then Comes The Wonder going viral and quickly ascending to #1 on Hype Machine's Most Popular Tracks.
With How Strange to Be, The Landing injects more of his optimistic outlook on our place in the Cosmos. Bright and upbeat instrumentation is juxtaposed with deep, inquisitive lyrics, while the varying percussive grooves make it all one big cosmic dance party. Above all else, How Strange to Be is a celebration of the human experience that we all share.
