What’s Up
Biography

Booming onto the Tokyo scene in 2010, What’s Up is quickly became one of the biggest party bands in Japan and the United States. What’s Up’s music combines west-coast rap beats, reggae guitar rhythms and the funkiest of bass sounds; culminating into exciting grooves, catchy melodies and a live show that is simply unmatched. Their unique sound is attracting a broad and devoted following throughout Japan, South America and the United States.

Early in their career, What’s Up made it a priority to connect not only with the fans, but also with the community. They display a positive and uplifting message onstage and that follows them offstage as well. To date, “What’s Up” has worked alongside dozens of charitable organizations promoting causes band feels strongly about, including the Red Cross, Autism Speaks, American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, etc…

What’s Up has gained international exposure, having songs featured on major radio stations in the United States, Japan, Argentina and Chile. On the screen, they have written music for movies, cable television and documentaries (Mr. Dial Has Something To Say), as well as been involved on the production of projects with major artists like Train, Three Doors Down and the Black Crows.

The success and agenda of What’s Up has paved the way to sharing stages with many international acts including 100 Monkeys and The Nappy Roots. Recently, What’s Up finalized their first full-length album, “We Are What’s Up” from the Tangent Music Studio at Workplay Theater in Birmingham, AL, USA.
