"Barfly (NUVO)"

"...They fuse elements of Southern Rock, Jam, & Classic Rock into a wholly likable rock hybrid.

Electric, Accoustic, & Lap Steel Guitar all mesh & flow.

This is what the Doobie Brothers might sound like if they coverd songs by Jet...or maybe Fuel covering the Allman Brothers.

They place a heavy emphasis on guitar & it's no wonder, all thier licks are smoking hot..."

"Battle of the Bands (Round 1) in NUVO"

"Wheelhouse secured a second place win with clean, bluesy hooks and a mature, tight sound, which the band described as 'blues with balls.' "

"Battle of the Bands (Semi-Finals) in NUVO"

"...Wheelhouse...did have a good body-shaking show. Taking second place with 1,589 votes, there was no way this progressive blues band was going down without a fight. They laced up and got the crowd moving with rhythmic jams influenced by classic rock and imbued with strands of funk straight from the mothership."

"Battle of the Bands (Finals) in IMS"

"...The energetic Wheelhouse hit the stage in the fifth slot and ran hard and fast with a blow out performance holding nothing back. Fan or not, you couldn’t help but bob your head and stomp your feet to the music. 'I think everyone had a great time and it was really cool to play for a packed house and get your music out there. It was a big step for the music scene as a whole' said front man Ryan Powell. Wheelhouse finished a close second when the final tallies were read..."

"Battle of the Bands (Finals) in NUVO"

"...The Holy Crap That Rocked Award goes to Wheelhouse. These guys need to skip the studio and just start doing more live shows. An extremely tight set and a guitarist whose hands move faster than Pee Wee Herman’s make this band one to keep your eye on..."

WheelHouse - Say Hello (Debut Album)

WheelHouse is a rock ‘n roll band from Indianapolis, IN. Their music has been adequately described as a “cross between The Allman Brothers and Jet, fusing elements of southern rock, jam, and classic rock into a wholly likable rock hybrid.”

The five-piece group demonstrates a mature, well-developed songwriting talent, yet at the same time they have no qualms about dishing out hard-rocking songs that get your head bobbing and your heart pumping. Heavy in guitar licks, swampy organ melodies and catchy hooks, WheelHouse finds a happy medium between straight-up rock and mellow grooves.

“We could write a funk song tomorrow and a ballad the next day,” says Matt McClain, the band’s main songwriter. “I think music manifests itself in everyday events and emotions, and when you can capture that moment in a song, it will take on a life of its own. If it turns out to be a great song, we’ll play it.”

WheelHouse’s new album, Say Hello (2007), reflects the band’s focus on songwriting as well as the high-energy mood of their live shows. The 12-song album, self-produced and independently released, showcases the band’s love of hook-heavy, blues-influenced rock. “We like each song to be different in some way, to include an element that separates it from any of our other songs,” Jimmy, lead guitarist, says of the songs.

With the release of their new album, WheelHouse looks forward to entertaining fans around the Midwest with their electrifying live show and heavy-rock bliss.

Since forming in late 2005, their accomplishments include: receiving radio airplay on both 92.3 WTTS and 100.1 WNUY, finishing 2nd out of 115 bands in the Indianapolis Battle of the Bands, and opening for multiple national acts.
