Solid album, Or course, best songs are... all of them. Great band live too, crowd interaction and all that stuff. I noticed a familiar drumbeat in all of the songs though, but ah who cares it's a killer album. from Roshin with love

"Review for "Of Ash and Chemicals""

Overall Comments:
Hey (WRB), your song is presented with lots of energy and attitude, which is a good thing. It contains good musical and melodic parts. The strong vocal delivery (female and male) suits the material well.

The musicianship is driving, tight and fitting - the production sounds good overall.

The arrangement of the song is hard to grasp, even after a few times. It seems there are various verses, bridges, (which could still work) but you even seem to use two choruses ("Down'Down'Down" and "Spinning... in my mind") - choosing one definitive chorus could help to give the listener a focal point in this (otherwise) changing song.

Apart from that - good work.

I wish you luck with everything.

History:

While Rome Burns was created from the ashes of two former Boston area bands (Zoo 88 and Rancor). Originally a five piece group, the band stormed the scene recording their EP titled “Built on the Ashes of Memories” and playing at such venues as The Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge and The Living Room in Providence. The local buzz for the band definitely helped in the end of 2006 when WRB took part of the Bodog Battle of the Bands and advanced to the Semi Finals round for the Boston area, beating out bands that had been on the Boston circuit far longer then they had been.

With the new year of 2007 came a few new changes for the band. While Rome Burns added a female vocalist to strengthen the melodic features of their songs create a new dynamic in which to play off. The end of 2007 has also brought a change in the band’s line up with a new bassist joining the ranks of WRB.

Since their previous recording, WRB has hit the studio to rerecord their material and incorporate Gaby's talents into the groups sound. The band recorded with producer Kris Smith (Between the Buried and Me, Drop Kick Murphys, Gravehaven, etc.) to publish December 2007 released EP "The Beauty in Violence."
