Bio

Formed in 2009, Whiskey Bros. brings together traditional singer-songwriter storytelling and song structure within the confines of a modern rock n’ roll band. The four-piece unit, based out of Richmond, VA is currently hard at work on their debut album, which features songs that run a gamut of themes including love, loss, death, and devotion.
Lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Steve Snider and lead guitarist Ryan Colton found the perfect complement in drummer Alex Mancia and bassist Justin Willcox. Justin’s melodic bass lines ebb and flow perfectly with Steve’s stylized lyrics and chord pairings, while Alex’s percussion work not only provides a solid backbone to the songs but also imparts vibrant flourishes that accent Ryan’s country/rock-inspired lead lines. While sometimes lyrically intense in subject matter, Whiskey Bros.’ original compositions shuffle and swing with fervor, harkening back to the roots of first generation indie-rock and 60’s era country and rhythm & blues. Like a good mixed drink the concoction of musical styles and influences, which range from such diverse groups as Modest Mouse, Tom Petty, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Death Cab For Cutie add up to a unique listening experience that is both easily digestible and highly addictive.
Whiskey Bros. has quickly gained notoriety in Central Virginia after securing a slot at the 2010 Carytown Watermelon Festival as well as being the main support act for former Wailer/current Kenny Chesney percussionist Drummie Zeb at the National Theater in Richmond. They have played a variety of other local venues including Cary St. Café, Legend Brewing Co. and The Pour House. Whiskey Bros. plans to deliver their debut album in early 2011 followed by a release party at a local venue. They are hoping to branch out into other surrounding markets as well as focus on the growing internet fanbase that they have accumulated by networking on sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and their own independently produced site – www.whiskeybros.co.cc
