Bio

Whiskey Heartache came on the scene in late September 2007 when lead singer Lucas Wilson relocated to Chicago from Grand Rapids, MI. He began writing music with pianist Davy Tyson, also a recent transplant to the city and a member of Wilson’s Michigan rock act Sweet Japonic. With the addition of Max Lockwood's upright bass and the tasteful, jazz-inflected drumming of Nick Kabat, the group's distinctive sound began to develop. Whiskey Heartache’s acoustic music blends elements of folk, blues, rock and soul with touches of bluegrass and gospel, and Wilson’s captivating vocals are perfectly complemented by the classically trained, versatile rhythm section.

The band has met with remarkable success in their brief existence; they have already headlined shows at several local venues, signed with Stonecutter Records, and recorded their first EP with producer/engineer Chris Steinmetz at Chicago Recording Company. As they prepare to release their first record, Whiskey Heartache continue to welcome fans and attention to their soulful, compelling music.
