Biography

Whiskey Syndicate found its beginnings a few years back at Washington State University, where Matt Dessert met Greg Floyd, forming a musical symbiosis that continues to this day. It was a simple idea: Play good music for good people. Success! But, as all things do, college came to an end, and it seemed like an end for the Syndicate. Matt and Greg moved to Seattle and took up respective jobs in the real world, not knowing what was around the corner.

From two very different places, with heads filled with very different ideas, enter Shea Druffel and Brad Robinson. Shea, a good ol’ boy from the heart of the Palouse in Eastern Washington, moved to Seattle to pursue a career in music, being the rock steady bassist for his band The Brothers Bowlby. Unbeknownst to anyone, at the very same time, Brad, a drummer by trade, made his way to Seattle from Indiana in pursuit of…something that wasn’t Indiana. Having sold his drum set for gas money, he had no intention of a musical future. Jump ahead 4 years…

Matt and Brad get jobs in the same sushi restaurant and find musical camaraderie. Matt invited Brad to meet Greg to see if a jam session could become something a little bit more. The meeting occurred at the house of the Brothers Bowlby, where Shea was invited to sit in while they auditioned a drummer. What happened next is the stuff of legend, or just a really cool coincidental meeting. Your call. Either way, Shea was in too and Whiskey Syndicate was reborn and repackaged. Now, taking influence from the rock n’ roll greats of the past and present (The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Black Keys…), the band is proving their chops quickly with great songwriting in a style all their own and high energy shows that are still earning them fans everyday. If you make your way to see them you can still expect three things: Great music, great people, and a great time.

Rodeo

Written By: Whiskey Syndicate

Crazy lady keep me on mah feet
Bags pack and ready at the door,
she likes when my heart skips a beat,
I’ve gotta be ready to go,
Her satin hat and her shiny boots,
get on that bull,
go on and grab the reigns girl,
You’re in control,
Oh baby, come on, and do what ya know,
I just want you to be in my, be in my Rodeo

Sleepin in is my new day job,
getting up at a half past ten,
shes already down at her show,
probably getting herself a new man
Her satin hat and her shiny boots,
get on that bull,
go on and grab the reigns girl,
You’re in control,
Oh baby, come on, and do what ya know,
I just want you to be in my, be in my Rodeo

Fast make my way down to her show
Sitting up in her stands,
I see her their down below,
Hanging off of her brand new boy or man

Her satin hat and her shiny boots,
get on that bull,
go on and grab the reigns girl,
You’re in control,
Oh baby, come on, and do what ya know,
I just want you to be in my, be in my Rodeo

Mississippi Blood

Written By: Whiskey Syndicate

Mississippi Blood

Your eyes flash like stars from across the room,
And you made yourself known when you presented those baby blues,
We catch eyes together sparks fly in this night full of gloom,
A southern-bell you have your conservative styles, oh, I’m glued

(Chorus)
You get me off like a loaded gun
Well I just want some of your Mississippi Blood

A drink in one hand a cigarette (whiskey rocks) touches your lips so smooth
A sexy smirk I glance again, I move closer to you,
Ya give me soul, compassion ,ya give me, ya give me menthe julip blues
A down south touch as we go to dance under the moon,
Ya mine for the night and I want more of yooooooooooooooouuuuuu-ah,

(Chorus)

(Outro)
