Bio
WhiskyJax are an innovative and captivating four-piece from Peterborough who produce unique and catchy new music with a funk/electro feel, taking inspiration from bands such as Foals, Hurts and Fenech-Soler.
With confidence and charisma, the foursome produce an exhilarating and memorable live performance. Front man James Izzo is a vastly experienced singer and guitarist, whilst brother Josh Izzo is a top-level industry trained drummer and percussionist. The band is completed by classically trained pianist Andrew Brindley on synths/electronics and highly accomplished musician Matt Worthington on basses.
In 2010 WhiskyJax began working with Numen Records, where they are now recording their debut album. Early in 2011 the band were selected by BBC Introducing to attend a masterclass for upcoming bands at Abbey Road/Maida Vale studios. The band have had ongoing interest and support from local and national media, supported many acts (including Fenech-Soler and Does It Offend You, Yeah), gained valuable experience on the London circuit (Purple Turtle, Monto Water Rats, Punk Club, 229 Clubs, etc) in connection with FeedMe Music, and have previously had the pleasure of recording a music video with the Jools Holland production team.
WhiskyJax have an established and rapidly growing fanbase, with an average age range of 16-30. The WhiskyJax sound is recollectable from your first hearing, and having made the band their full-time focus (living and working together daily), they are a very marketable foursome with a predictable bright and successful future ahead.
