"Whisky Jax join V2 record label to fans delight"

Up and coming band Whisky Jax have signed up to the V2 record label to the delight of their fans. The five piece band, from the town Peterborough in the UK, are an indie-pop-electro band and has been slowly developing their fan base since 2009.

One fan expressed his delight saying, “It is about time these lads got signed up. They are the best local band that I have heard in this city for many years.” Another fan took to Twitter saying, “Great news for the Whisky Jax boys!” And the fan base is bound to grow now they have signed up to V2.

It is a good move for the band, which consists of James Izzo on vocals, Andrew Brindly on keyboards and electronics, Adam Tucker on bass, Michael Meadows on guitar and Josh Izzo on drums. Other bands already signed to V2 includes Mumford & Sons, Stereophonics and Fleet Foxes.

Drummer Josh explained, “We sent off our music and they instantly liked it. All the hard work, hours of practice, promoting and gigging has paid off. Along with all the great things to come we are almost in a state of disbelief. We knew something would happen but I guess you never know how you’re going to handle the news.”

He added, “We definitely celebrated that night for sure. It was well deserved though. We were so stressed because things felt like they were on a knife edge, but now a weight’s been lifted off our shoulders.” Josh then went on to praise the city of Peterborough for its support and talent.

He concluded, “What is to come will really benefit the local scene and give hope to those budding musicians in Peterborough who don’t think they have a chance. I believe there is talent on our streets, and now it’s our turn to show people what Peterborough has to offer.” - FansShare.com

"Whisky Jax to get revellers into festive spirit at switch-on"

THE Whisky Jax boys have been asked to play at this year’s Peterborough Christmas lights switch-on.

It means the Peterborough electro-pop five-piece will join a bill which already features last year’s X Factor stars Diva Fever.

The illumination event will take place in Cathedral Square on Saturday, November 19, between 4pm and 6pm.

It will feature brand new Christmas lights, and Father Christmas is due to make a special stop in Cathedral Square during the evening as well.

Whisky Jax’s appearance will signal the start of a busy Christmas and new year period.

The band recently pencilled a one-single contract with the V2 (Virgin) record label, and the track No Stopping is out in mid-January. They hope it will lead to further releases.

Whisky Jax have also linked up with PR company Absolute Marketing (The Hoosiers, McFly); Tomorrow Never Knows online PR and TurnerSpear radio pluggers.

The group will also be playing at the opening party for the new Jack Wills store, in Liverpool, on November 16.

Just before Christmas, Whisky Jax will be back in studio working on new tracks. For free track downloads, visit www.facebook.com/whiskyjax - Evening Telegraph

Josh thanked the band’s local fans for their support to date and said the record signing helped boost music in the city .

He said: “What is to come will really benefit the local scene and give hope to those budding musicians in Peterborough who don’t think they have a chance.

“I believe there is talent on our streets, and now it’s our turn to show people what Peterborough has to offer.”
