Whisky Tango Foxtrot

Whisky Tango Foxtrot

BandAlternative

Whisky Tango Foxtrot is an energetic protopunk outfit that sounds like Bends era Radiohead with some Jets To Brazil, sprinkled with doom, folk, jazz, and post-rock. Led by earth quaking vocals, WTF creates a sound that is everything and nothing you've ever heard at the same time.

Biography

Whisky Tango Foxtrot is a four-piece protopunk outfit from Pittsburgh, PA. Community-oriented and housebroken, Whisky Tango Foxtrot has shared the stage with the likes of Fort Wilson Riot (Minneapolis), Family Lumber (New York), Action Camp (Pittsburgh), Wally Dogger (Chicago), Me and My Arrow (Minneapolis), My Summer (New York), Phantom Tails (Minneapolis), Tijuana Hercules (Chicago), and in an earlier iteration, Motion City Soundtrack and Saves the Day.

The sound is an unabashed combination of slightly blighted irony and tube-seared reverb haze interspersed with bits of immense melody and unforgiving, sustained noise. Operatically trained female vocals lead the charge with the proud flags of the coalescent rhythm section and broadly painted guitar tones following. Aided by trustworthy second-hand gear, Whisky Tango Foxtrot treks on in search of the next great place to play- yours.
