Bio

The WHITE COALS started one rainy day in Paris, 2009 when Dave White and Cole Fournier decided to try their hand at busking in the busy city streets of France's capital. As the day went on, and the change and smiles kept coming and coming, they realized that the best reception came from songs they were free styling together were drawing the most coins and smiles.

From that day onwards, a decision to join the forces of Cole's hooks and melodies with Dave's fingers and fretwork evolved into a unique amalgamation of sound, creating an antidote to boring love songs and romantic cliches by exploring the realities of love, lust, and everything in between.

Fast forward two years later to 'ACCOMPLICES’, the 9 track debut album from the group. The disc -- a collection of pop-rock anthems and ballads -- was recorded at Furnace Room Studios in North Bay and produced by Ben Leggett (Craig Cardiff, Faraway Neighbors, The Birds They Spy).

"After playing for a while as an acoustic duo, we realized that for this album we needed to flesh out the tracks and bring a new life to them," White says. For Fournier, it was the first time picking up an electric guitar. The two recruited Eric Treleaven (Craig Cardiff, Cody Allen Band) and Mike Perreault (Tundra, Oh The Humanity) to play bass and drums, respectively.

Now, fresh off a self promoted tour across Ontario playing house concerts, college campuses and music festivals, the band are in the works to record their sophmore album to furthur spread their sometimes humorous, always infectious Pop Rock sensibilities across Canada.
