Bio
"He’s the city incarnate, a prickly glom of voices, wit, whimsy and insight." - Robert Priest
Four-time member Toronto's national poetry slam team, the White Noise Machine walked away from National Theatre School and began practicing his stand-up surrealism.
He's performed on stages large and small from coast to coast in Canada and the US, including the Eden Mills Writer's Festival, the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word, Word on the Street, and the Words Aloud Festival. He has shared the stage with such acts as Luke Doucet, Mr. Something Something, and C.R. Avery.
His influences include: Rainer Maria Rilke, Lenny Bruce, that shampoo ad you just saw, and the sound of truncheons on riot shields. He writes the City Hall column for Toronto's NOW Magazine under the bizarre pseudonym Mike Smith, but carries poetry in his coat pocket like a five-dollar film noir handgun.
