Feeling a bit camera shy

Originally from the picturesque mountainous landscape of West Virginia, Whitney Ann grew up in a household that nurtured creativity. Her father, Junior, would play guitar in his knowledge of seeming solitude and she would hide around the corner and listen with admiration. Her love of performing resulted in soaking up every opportunity that presented itself, eventually to leave her small town ties to the acquisition of an Acting degree from Columbia College on the big streets of Chicago. This transitioned to a move to Los Angeles. While working as a struggling actor in LA, Whitney was itching to do something artistic and original. After casually mentioning to a friend that she wanted to learn to play guitar, her friend surprised her and gave her a guitar that Christmas. Immediately and concurrently, she began to teach herself to play and to write songs. After two whole months of playing and writing, she saw a notice for a music management company looking for new talent. She curiously contacted them and after learning that they required a demo, she explained that she did not have one and boldly asked if she could come into the office and play for them live and in person. To her stupefaction, they agreed. And that is exactly what she did. They liked her enough to send her to a meeting with a music producer. Upon meeting the music producer, Whitney Ann again played live for him. The producer and Whitney Ann hit it off. They began working together and realized that perhaps their magnetism towards each other was more than just a professional chemistry. After much lamenting and the producer saying we can be like Tina and Ike, Whitney Ann felt that the situation was too much of a cliche and that the dedication to her music would fall into the shadows and ended progression of their partnership. Desiring to get away from the LA lifestyle, she took a job as an Au Pair in a coastal town in Italy where she carried her guitar by her side, playing in cafes and by the sea. Falling madly and desperately in love with Italy, she also ached to continue the pursuit of her career and returned to the US. She found herself returning home to family in Pittsburgh,PA. Shortly after, she connected with Rowen Poole who was searching for a female lead singer for his established and world renowned band Persephones Dream. After auditioning, Whitney Ann felt that their progressive rock sound wasnt really her cup of tea and then mentioned to Rowen, but I have these original songs if you want to hear them Rowen who is also owner and producer of StarGlider Studios agreed to produce and record her debut album which came to be Down Stage Left. Upon recording, they formed the band, the Platonic Guy Friends, with Rowen as bassist, Jim Puskar as drummer, and later brought in Nicholas Paul as Lead Guitarist/Harmonica, along with Robin Hasenfplug on Cello, and John (JT) Tallent on percussion as special guests.
