Whitney Wood

Whitney Wood is an up and coming R&B/Soul artist hailing from La Crescenta, CA.

Twenty-one year old Whitney Wood is currently a member of the all-girl quartet Just Friends who recently performed at the famous Key Club in Hollywood. She is an experienced Gospel singer who is currently involved in several Gospel groups throughout Southern California. Celebration, a gospel group from the nationally acclaimed music program at Azusa Pacific, recently returned from their national summer tour. Their self-titled debut album is slated for release this coming month. She is also involved in Azusa Pacific University’s Gospel Choir, having sang solos on their debut album soon to be released also. Whitney is currently working on developing her musical career, which includes recording her first demo album.

Music has been a pivotal part of Whitney’s life. Having grown up in the church, Whitney has been immersed in Gospel music for most of her life. Since the ripe age of four, Whitney has been singing in church and Gospel groups, continuing to pursue her passion for gospel music in choirs throughout her high school and collegiate careers. She has been a part of both Gospel choirs offered at Azusa Pacific University and has also recorded albums with these choirs. Being deeply rooted in Gospel music has allowed Whitney to grow a strong passion other types of music, including R&B/Soul. Branching outside the Gospel realm, Whitney has recorded with Half Accident Productions and has also sang backup for artists such asTwentyfour64 and Malynda Hale, and even appeared in Malynda Hale’s music video “No More Tears”. Whitney has also sung at several sporting events and private events.

As an artist, Whitney aspires to sing music that uplifts and inspires others. She seeks to develop her unique musical style and talents through broadening her musical opportunities and repertoire. Being involved in different gospel groups currently is allowing her to continue to expand her range and have opportunities to learn new styles.
