"Who's Edna?"

...Good question!

Who's Edna are an Edinburgh-based indie pop group. They started their journey back in late October 2009, when a previous incarnation of the band, hailing originally from Pencuik and calling themselves "One Man Down", had the misfortune to lose their singer...

...But then found themselves blessed with the arrival of Kirsty, who auditioned successfully to be their new vocalist. Kirsty had previously been a drummer, for the fantastically-named all girl rock outfit "Storm in a D Cup". She joined the three boys (Greg on drums, Stuart on bass guitar and Scotty on lead guitar) in a quest to make cute but edgy-sounding fun music which the Edinburgh music scene could be proud of.

Two years on and Who's Edna have collected together a bundle of sweet and infectious original pop tunes, honing their sound into an irresistibly charming concoction of loveliness. The band have enjoyed success touring Scotland in 2010-2011, playing various gigs in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh and making a lot of new friends and fans along the way.

Their line-up changed in late 2010 when they said goodbye to Scotty but welcomed Gordon on lead guitar and happily acquired the wonderful Kathleen on keyboards/rhythm guitar. Bristling with new layers of fascinating riffs and keyboard solos, Who's Edna has now become even more exciting. Influenced by such luminaries as Fleetwood Mac, No Doubt, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Gossip, Biffy Clyro, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Muse, Air, Sneaker Pimps, Green Day and Nirvana, their sound carries echoes of all classic pop, but if a contemporary comparison is required, think The Gossip meets the Scissor Sisters. Kirsty from the band puts it best - "Our aim for the future is to keep writing more original fun, fresh music, to play as many gigs as we can...but most of all we want to make sure that our fans have as much fun as possible when coming to a gig. We promise we will unleash the inner-Edna in you!"

If you feel the inner-Edna stirring already, then get in contact - we'd love to hear from you!
