"Why Another - The Air: Progressively Ambient Indie"

The Air is the latest single by Why Another; a collective of musicians hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, their intricately complex soundscapes didn’t fail to capture our attention and leave us insatiable for their sound after we were treated to the transiently evocative new single. A lot of artists may think they’re prodigal or pioneering, yet, finding a band with reminiscence to Why Another would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

If you like your Indie tracks to carry a haunting progressive ambience, you’ll absolutely be in heaven the Air, the extended track treats you to over seven minutes of concordant instrumental and vocal synergy with an almost Post-Punk resonance bleeding through the track.

Whilst it could be said that some aspects of the Air are comparable to bands such as Radiohead the way they weave neo-classical components into the composition so seamlessly is beyond anything I’ve ever heard. The classical strings truly kick in at the mid-way point of the track and wouldn’t be out of place in a film Noir soundtrack, yet it’s not long before they’re back in with the reverb soaked guitar-driven melodies. And all of that is without even mentioning the vocals which are soaring, weightless and paradoxically grounding.

"Why Another – Only At Night Song Review"

Why Another is an exceptional psychedelic rock band I have discovered through Metalhead Community Blog submissions about a couple months ago with this very song; Only at Night. First of all, I would like to say that we are delighted with our discovery. Why Another is a fascinating band with an authentic style. I am sure people who love progressive rock will dig this band. Only at Night is a very successful song where the band is showing huge potential, their advanced skills in music such as the Harlem Globetrotters, but without losing the musical sense. As I have also mentioned earlier in some of my articles that I am a huge fan of innovative musical ideas (only meaningful ones) and these gents have been pretty generous with theirs on this one. The song is super atmospheric. Vocals do not sound like anything I have heard before to be honest. Most of the time, and also unfortunately, female vocalists do copy each other a lot. I am listening to tons of new music every day and 99% of them sound the same. However, you will understand what exactly having an authentic style means in this one, not only in singing but in every way. I am well impressed.

Technically, the song sounds perfectly balanced, clean, clear, natural and powerful. Nothing is more or less, every single element in the music has great unity and harmony. The composition has many tricks down the way, takes the listener into a story where you can never be certain of what’s gonna come next. This, my friend, is what I call; “the excitement”. Just like we have got used to talking to each other about a movie, about how they surprised everybody at the final scene. On the other side, I started to feel like even the progressive musicians have been in some kind of cycle for some time. So many of them are making marvelous things, playing Petrucci licks, writing down even more challenging stuff in their music. And we all know that’s not the point. Why Another has made a big difference here not only with their instrumental capabilities but with the energy in the song, which I found quite unique. They have shown a proper dose of creativity along with the magnificent atmosphere which raises the tension every second until the end. So when I take all these into account, I can say that I am convinced. Why Another can be a leader in this field and take the flag further, without a doubt. Intelligent songwriting by brilliant musicians.

Strongly recommended to Progressive Rock fans! - Metalhead Community

"In WHY ANOTHER’s Sterling Art-Piece Single ‘Why’, Innovation In Sound Is Delivered With Emotional Deference."

WHY ANOTHER is an band based in Boston. The band’s creative palette is as wide as talented, with brilliant usage of musical language, and structural arrangements, as complex as the listener might want. Culmination of emotions and dexterous hinges in defining what strips of life’s blood might feel like, the innovative single ‘Why’ makes you cringe with unadulterated delight.

The single is an art piece.

Headed by Adi Malka, the band mixes formulas of pastel and primary colors to show the decadence and vulnerability of human impasses. The raw energy isn’t defined by the hardness of the chords, but the soft-stick in ‘Why’ is heavy and substantive, as any that is thrown out into the wilds. The eclectic surrealism, highlights contemptuous realities, in a hue and brilliance in musical reverence.

The single is quite an emotional innovation.

Accompanying this fabulous single, the official video, animated by Oliver Hudson (@olliehudson) is credible, belligerent, radical, and emotive as the song.

"Why Another – “Why”"

Why Another are a band from Boston with an emotional, striking sound. In addition to their ability to integrate both hard-moving rock with serene electronic soundscapes, the band wows with the vocals of frontman Adi Malka, which resemble Jeff Buckley in their haunting croon. Their new single “Why” is a great showing, bringing these vocals to the forefront alongside glistening guitars and a mounting rhythm section. The engaging songwriting builds to a striking final minute or so, where various built-up elements converge for an emotional release.

The track comes via the band’s self-titled album, streaming in full below:
