Why M.A.E.K. Music™ originated in Chicago, IL to re-evaluate the various motivations that lead to the creation of music. “M.A.E.K.” serves as an acronym that lists some of the motivators behind the creation of music: money, art, entertainment, and kreativity. We have fused the styles of traditional R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Blues, Pop, and Rock to create a sound that resuscitates the artistry of music and transcends categorization into a particular genre. The goal of Why M.A.E.K. Music™ is to inspire thought, creativity, and enlightenment through sophisticated song structures, unparalleled live sound, and ebullient performance style.

Why M.A.E.K. Music™ is more than just a band comprised of three members. It is a band centered on firmly establishing itself in various forms of music, media, and merchandising mediums. Why M.A.E.K. Music™ wants to go beyond the creation of platinum singles and records and explore several merchandising ventures in film, fashion, and musical equipment, just to name a few. Why M.A.E.K. Music™ aspires to not just become the most influential force in the music entertainment industry, but to position itself as a global marketing phenomenon.

The concept of Why M.A.E.K. Music™ began when Jason and Bryan were college roommates. Always critical of the current state of modern mainstream music and its lack of creativity, substance, and passion, Jason and Bryan decided to create a project that filled these voids. Not afraid to challenge existing conventions, they trademarked their style with complicated song structures and unique instrumentals that relate to the average person’s struggles, triumphs, and life experiences. The two of them sought to birth a sound that would bridge the existing gaps between music listeners of various genres, gender, and age demographics.
