"Emerging Artist Spotlight - Wicker - "Meanest Kids in Town""

Wicker's new EP release, M.K.I.T. ("Meanest Kids in Town"), dropped on January 22nd. Their debut single, "Hooligan," features a mix of hip-hop and dance, as lead singer Max Nash transitions easily between rapping and singing. The electro-hop musical style presented on M.K.I.T. is courtesy of band members Troy Spino, Tyler Stone, Step Espinola and front man Max Nash.

While "Hooligan" is the first release off M.K.I.T., there are several other cool tracks as well, including "Static on the Radio," which laments the lack of musical variety heard on most contemporary radio stations. The track features smooth harmonies accented by a dance/rap groove. In addition, other key tracks include the pop driven "No Explanations" and the contemporary, musically diverse and titillating sounds of "Taste Your Body."

"Hollywood, Electro-Pop Group – Wicker"

Wicker, electro-hop quartet, straight outta the heart of Hollywood have been killing it on the music scene over the past year playing sold out shows throughout Southern California, while preparing for the release of their latest project Meanest Kids In Town.

It took a year of recklessness, and serious partying to so perfectly compile the musical influences that would shape M.K.I.T. Alas inspiration was found, when the dirty beats of dubstep were introduced to the swag of these four California Hooligans and musical synergy formed shaping M.K.I.T.

Their debut single, “Hooligan” is the catalyst track that will introduce the world to the refined and matured sound of Wicker. A party packed into a song, this is the sure fire track to get people to go hard at any function in 2011. The fusion of hip-hop rhythms and dubstep wobbles, along with front man Max Nash’s ability to variate between singing and rapping gives Wicker an unprecedented sound and style.

The album is streaming and available for sale exclusively on TheeWebsite (www.TheeWebsite.com/Wicker) leading to the release of M.K.I.T on January 22.

We appreciate the time and effort you put into giving artists like Wicker promotion, so we would like to give you the “Hot to Hot”mp3 to listen to and use personally. The track will is available to the public to purchase via TheeWebsite. Thank you for your time and enjoy the dope new music - pcm-music.com

"NEW TALENT: Wicker"

By: Nevra Azerkan

Wicker is making their mark in the L.A. music scene with their new brand of music that they have dubbed electro-indie-hop. The Hollywood, CA based band is comprised of Max Nash (lead vocals), Troy Spino (Guitar/backup vocals), Tyler Stone (Drums/backup vocals) and Step Alvarez (The DJ).

The band initially formed with just Max and Troy, the latter of whom originally played bass. They all met while they attended the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, CA. During a last minute show at the Key Club they were in need of a drummer and Troy referred Tyler and that was that. The inspiration of their moniker however is a little more detailed. “Where we started the band it was on my mom’s porch—out on the back sun porch, the coolest area in the house to hang out and we’d always be playing music out there and the furniture was wicker. We were just thinking all the genres intertwined,” says Nash.

Wicker recently released their “Meanest Kids in Town” EP, which features new catchy hits like “Hooligan” and “No Explanations”. You can view the trailer for it here as well as stream and/or purchase MKIT in its entirety on their official website. This is their 3rd EP release following Dungeon Days (2008) and The Leak (2009) which produced hot tracks, “People Going Crazy” and “Diggin 4 Gold”. “Electro-indie-hop” (2009) and “Fight Back” (2010) were released as singles.

Wicker has been a staple at The Roxy Theatre, having played there for years as well as having played the 2010 Sunset Strip Music Festival. The band has had the opportunity to share the stage with Shiny Toy Guns, LMFAO, Mickey Avalon, Hypercrush and After Midnight Project.

With the fan base they have you would think these guys are signed, but you would be wrong. Wicker joins the new era of amazing bands that choose to remain unsigned until they really need to be.

According to the band, their music ranges from Jack Johnson to Pharcyde. Currently, they are working on their next EP, League of Lonely Hearts. For Valentine’s Day 2011 they released “Love Head First” as a free download to their fans for one day only.

Keep an eye out for their “Little Miss Sunshine” music video and you can also find their music now on iTunes. For more information on Wicker visit their official website, Facebook and Twitter. - popzineonline.com

Bio

While the four personalities of WICKER fit perfectly into a Hollywood "IT" kid category, the music they create is without definition. Composed of straight lyricism and huge choruses - all set to the backdrop of addictively dance oriented party rock - WICKER is a larger than life blowout event that keeps the booze flowing and the bodies jumping. After spending the last few years warming up the Hollywood stage for Sunset Strip mainstays such as LMFAO, Shiny Toy Guns, Mickey Avalon, Hyper Crush and Iglu & Hartly, WICKER marches forward into 2011 as a bona fide headliner and Main Event as they continue to infect the masses with their own unique brand of “Electro-Indie-Hop.”
