Bio

Inspired by broadway, soul, and jazz, Wilder brings a new sound to the stage. Izzy Ignacio, the singer, and songwriter in the stage duo has been addicted to performing on stage ever since she set foot on it. "I remember having just one solo in the Christmas pageant with my rock band, after that it became 4 solo songs the next year". Wilder has performed in many unique places such as Acoustic Den, this April they are also planning on performing their original songs from Wild Goodbyes around California. Each song on the release has its own special story to tell. For example, How To Leave A Place You Love, Wild Goodbyes was written about Wilder's miserable experience at a past school. She admits in the song that it might be her fault for seeing through a depressed perspective, but that she has no regrets and is ready to explore life beyond that school. Wild Goodbyes tells a story of a girl who is treated terribly because she acts different, doesn't play sports and as a result of being excluded begins to involve herself with people who she eventually had to say goodbye to, often in strange ways. An example of this is in My Guy, where Wilder tells a story of a teacher who she had many conversations with and helped her get through her wild year, yet somehow they lost touch because of their age difference and the song implies that the teacher, like Wilder, had also left the school. The most exciting goodbye was definitely in He Said Goodbye in A Letter which was written about a boy who was rebellious, this boy gets pulled away from her because even Wilder is too dangerous for him. He eventually says a very long goodbye within a letter which then inspires Wilder to write a song about him. In Mars, Wilder finds herself involved for the first time with someone way more dangerous and daring than her, and she doesn't know what to do. She wants him to notice her, he does and she calls him "Mars" and is fascinated with his blue car, but he just leaves. Wilder is confused, sad and scared that he just left and decides to write a song to cope. Wilder finally says goodbye to her old life and makes a new start. Wilder, at this point, is now the player and is envied, even wanted. Wilder has never felt needed or wanted before and she is understandably confused. When boys start asking her out, Wilder feels that nobody is respecting her just because of her decisions in the past. She puts her foot down and says "Get away!" and thus comes the 5th song on her debut EP, Get Away. Wilder's story is beautiful and reminds others that despite hardships we face, we can always say goodbye and make a new start. "Even if you mess up on that new start, you can always start over and over, nobody has the right to tell you that you're supposed to act the way you acted in the past, you have the right to change yourself" - Izzy Ignacio, Wilder. The radio played and reviewed Colors in the sky is Wilder's final goodbye in this EP. She was inspired to write this after hearing the deaths that occurred at Pulse. The LGBTQ+ community is family to her, she was so saddened by this that she wrote a song, which is also a message of hope to the LGBT community. Wild Goodbyes might be her first EP but, it won't be her last. Wilder is here to stay and make a groundbreaking impact as a rising star in the Indie Pop and singer/songwriter genres. Yet above all of her deep and emotional music, Izzy Ignacio as a person and the teenage girl loves to have fun and be funny. As quoted from her conversation with Matt Nathanson, he said "You have wild hair, it's purple and it's curly! and she replied, "I know I guess I was meant to be Wild".
