Wild Rabbit Salad is ranked No. 1 Americana (Blues, Rock & Country) band in Houston
Wild Rabbit Salad is a blues, rock & country band fronted by singer songwriters Bucky and Marietta. Their 3rd album peaked at No. 5 in the US and No. 1 in Houston on the Americana charts. 10 years in the making, they present a powerful driving sound with upbeat percussion that is gritty and ethereal. The rhythm section are top players in the Houston area.
Bucky and Marietta met on Monday Nov. 18, 2007 at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck in Houston at “Open Mic night”. Their third date lasted 5 days and spawned their first co-write “I Didn’t Mean to Say I Love You”, (yep autobiographical). Their inaugural gig was at the “Old Quarter Acoustic Café” in Galveston.
They first played as Wild Rabbit Salad in 2009 at the “World Famous Last Concert Café”. Their previously released three CDs “Wild Rabbit Salad live at SXDE” 2011, “Red Dirt Rising” 2013 and self-titled “Wild Rabbit Salad” 2015 feature a full band, sometimes as many as 7 members. All original songs by Bucky and Marietta. They have received air play and artistic recognition for their efforts. They have played 100’s of gigs around Houston and beyond for the last 10 years.
Their new EP Wild Rabbit Salad “Unplugged, Organic and Gluten Free” is being stream nationwide and overseas. The new acoustic EP is sparse and driving, intense and accessible with engaging lyrics.
