Bio

The Wild Seeds are an Austin, TX rock band featuring Michael Hall, Joey Shuffield, Marcus Piña & Randy Franklin. The band began in 1984 in a basement near the UT campus. Over the next four years they released three records. Life is Grand (Life in Soul City), from 1985, was a garage pop EP. Brave, Clean, and Reverent, released in 1986, was pre-Americana roots rock. Mud, Lies, and Shame (1988) was a slick rock ‘n roll record that featured the band’s near-hit, “I’m Sorry, I Can’t Rock You All Night Long.” Wild Seeds broke up in 1989 and released a compilation album in 2001 called (you guessed it) I’m Sorry, I Can’t Rock You All Night Long.
The group reunited on September 8, 2012, to play GrulkeFest in honor of their friend and former road manager/sound man Brent Grulke, who died of a heart attack on August 13. The band had such a good time they’ve decided to keep playing.
