Through a series of unrelated yet somehow fateful events, many beyond our control, the members of WGB all now call Perth home. We've mostly been together, in one form or another, since we were kids...hanging out.... doing stuff.
Somewhere along the way music became important, infact, it became very important. First listening to it, then making it; now we get together as often as we can to make music and enjoy ourselves.
Wilfred G Buggy are the result of friends enjoying music and wanting to express the impact it has had on us by creating music others can, and want to, listen to.
The songs would be written and we'd be playing them to ourselves even if some lovely people hadn't heard them and wanted to hear more, and then hear them again.
There is an eighties feel to a few Wilfred G Buggy tunes (well there is a keyboard and we all lived through the 80's) and someone added a splice of country DNA to the mix - we are still trying to find out who and why.
That aside our songs are bass and drums driven with clean and crunchy guitar lines to complement the astounding vocal abilities of Phil, our singer and chief song writer (and part-time composer given the range of instrument sounds usually transfused into the songs).
Influences range from Sebadoh, Janes Addiction, Ramones, Pixies, The Cure and Radiohead to Neil Young, Thievery Corporation and Wilco.
