Will Farina

BandFolkAcoustic

Will Farina is not your average 6'7" indie folk rockin Banjo Player. He is larger then life. Some would even say the Paul Bunyan of indie rock. People don't really say that, but Will's soothing voice and double picked guitar will make you want to slap your knee and sing along and thats no tall tale!

Biography

Biography: Singer-songwriter Will Farina began writing songs at the age of sixteen. “I feel like I have grown up in such a small beachside town that my music in some way reflects the feeling of that kind of a laid back atmosphere,” says Will. “Sometimes I’ll write a song for a friend who has helped me, and

other times I will just try to write about a mindset or struggle that I am dealing with. The process of growing older and losing your childhood has always interested me too, and my music is a way for me to reminisce about the past.” Although he is influenced by folk revivalists such as Bob Dylan and Nick Drake, he has also been compared to modern artists such as Iron & Wine, Bright Eyes, Jack Johnson, and Mason Jennings.
In 2006 he finished is first record, “The Oak Tree,” which focused on folk roots and stripped down songwriting. His second record, “The Voice Around Your Wrist,” was released in the Spring of 2007 and uses broader instrumentation with the help of Mike Cacciatore and fellow Team Grizzly members Nicole Miglis and Jason Choi. Will has played shows around Melbourne for the last two years, and hopes to tour other cities soon.
