William Delaney

William is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. He began studying piano and brass instruments at an early age. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Maryville College (a private Liberal Arts institution) with an emphasis in choral conducting, classical piano, and music theory. While at Maryville College, he developed his choral directing skills while touring with the MC Concert Choir throughout North America and Mexico. He gained an interest in Contemporary Gospel Music while singing with and directing the MC Black Students' Association Gospel Choir. Because of his love for Gospel Music he relocated to the Atlanta area and began serving as musical director at Trinity A.M.E.
Church for ten years. In June of 1998 he became a leader in the Music Ministry at Hillside Chapel and Truth Center in Atlanta, GA. He is currently the organist and director of the Barbara Lewis King Singers and the Youth of Truth Choir. While at Hillside he has had an opportunity to accompany such vocal legends as Albertina Walker, Dorothy Norwood, Della Reese, BeBe Winans, Ernestine Dillard, Rickie Beckwith, Jean Carne, Delores Major, and Teresa Hightower.
Because of his strong desire to work and develop the voices and spirits ofyoung people, he served as the Assistant Director of the Chevrolet Youth
Stellar Choir 2001-2003. This was a group of extremely talented Young people (100 plus
voices) that auditioned yearly and performed at both the Gospel Stellar Awards activities and at the Essence Music Festival.
William is the leader of the Jazz and R&B band "The Alaye' Quartet". In 2004, William formed NSquared Productions. This is a company which provides music production, songwriting, and recording. In March of 2006, William released "Patience", a blend of meditative, classical, and healing instrumental music. He has begun working on his next release with his contemporary gospel ensemble, "Divine Order," whose CD is scheduled to be released in late 2006.
