Prolithic songwriter delivers genre-breaking shows that showcase great songs, multi-instrument talents, and intimate performance. Few comparisons can be made... it's that unique.

Biography

It's all about content and context. I'm always blown away when one listener hates a song, but it happens to be someone else's favorite. The bottom line is there is so much content, it's hard to pick what to deliver in a live show. From a context perspective the songs are often very relavent to the human experience... people always find something they can related to.

I would list my influences to be Pat Metheny, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Joe Satriani, Indigo Girls, Pearl Jam, the Beatles, and Tori Amos.

The funny thing about my songwriting, my playing solo or with Scott is that we are both music purists. I do only for the love of art form. We are both very successful in our professional careers but giving up music would be like giving up breathing. It would kill us. So every album, every track, every show carries with it a great level of integrity to the art of writing and playing music.

Lyrics

Cling

Written By: William Saunders

I cling to my pillow
I cling to my pride
I cling to my rapture
This rapture inside

Oh my God it's cold
Brace yourself
Here's another thought to cling to

Hide poems in the rafters dear
Cling to another imaginary inaugeration break down
I know I must be overdrawn
In a takedown clinging to the lifeboat
But the lifeboat will breakdown

Oh my God I blush
Brace yourself
Here's another coin to cling to
Just something to cling to

All he really wanted was a good life
With no strife and a good wife yeah.
All she really wanted was a nice man
With a nice plan to get all the nice things they can

One left clinging to the telephone line
One left clinging to the medicine you find

Oh oh oh oh oh oh I cling
I cling to my pillow
I cling to my pride
I cling to my rapture
This rapture inside

All they ever told her was
Not good enough
But all that really mattered was that she ended up being tough

Oh my God I know
Brace yourself
Here's another soul to cling to
Just someone to cling to

All he really wanted was a good life
With no strife and a good wife yeah.
All she really wanted was a nice man
With a nice plan to get all the nice things they can
All they really needed was some good love
Patience and some time for it all
What they wound up getting was a hard time
A hard time is nothing but the hills that we climb
One left clinging to the telephone line
One left clinging to the medicine you find
Oh oh oh oh oh oh I cling to you.

I cling to my window
I cling to my throne
I cling to my tether
This tether I've found

I cling to my pillow
I cling to my pride
I cling to my rapture
This rapture inside

Oh my God it's done
Face yourself
Here's another you to cling to

Weird World

Written By: William Saunders

Might I tell you how I've grown to call you by your name
Innocence in reflex but most of all a complex
of emotions strung out left and right
Ratified legions taking over regions
Soaking up my heart from all it's tribal spills

Look around there's a town where the folks are mad
Their new neighbor comes from a different land
Everywhere you turn there's a news crew
Shooting pictures of a world that's gets a little weirder everyday

Politician reject take a plane for hijack
Takes his losses in the form of pain, pain, pain
His heart it once was broken, by these words once spoken
By the world he held so dear dear

Look around there's a town where the folks are mad
Their new neighbor comes from a different land
Everywhere you turn there's a news crew
Shooting pictures of a world that's gets a little weirder everyday

Might I have you, Can I touch you, have you for my own
Barbed wire raptures and in his hands he captures
Tiny tokens from the light

Look around there's a town where the folks are mad
Their new neighbor comes from a different land
Everywhere you turn there's a news crew
Shooting pictures of a world that's gets a little weirder everyday

Birds of a Feather

Written By: William Saunders

Like birds of a feather, we all flock together
Leaning on each other now and then
Birds of a feather all flock together
Soaring ever higher
One day it's pomp and glitter
The next day you die
Broken bones, the cats before you
In the camera's eye

Tiny wings to carry, abreast to you so near
The curtain wraps around you
The talisman you fear

Well birds of a feather all flock together
Sparrow takes to flight
In her eyes a saddened fortune
Destitude and daylight
Oh to live is to win

Tiny wings to carry, abreast to you so near
The curtain wraps around you
The talisman you fear

Birds of a feather all flock together
Well to live tomorrow is to win the fight

Tiny wings to carry, abreast to you so near
The curtain wraps around you
The talisman you fear

I walked in the room
I felt that certain doom
I never thought I'd ever be the same again

One love above the rest
One love to pass the test
Like birds of a feather
We all flock together

Like birds of a feather, we all flock together
Leaning on each other now and then
