Bio

William Howard, known as "SMOKE", a veteran performer, is a soulful entertainment messenger of "Life & Love". A native of Bristol, TN, "Smoke" formed the group "The Fabulous Nu-Tones" while in college and wrote and recorded their first release, "Our Love Was Destined To Be"/"I'm Not Worthy", on vinyl while attending Tennessee State University. After college, his singing career took off when he led and managed a number of East Coast bands including South Jersey's "Black Smoke". Then, in the mid-1990s, "Smoke", as lead singer of The Ebonys, brought new life to the sound of Philadelphia with his rugged and powerful voice - slammin' the 90s with a dose of the great hits that made The Ebonys famous. His list of accomplishments also includes featured vocalist on "That's What Love Does" written and produced by Vincent Montana, Jr.; lead vocalist on Asphalt Jungle's Billboard charted single "Freakin Time"; first-class performer having shared the stage with such greats as Al Green, Billy Paul, Chi-Lites, Delfonics, Heatwave, Intruders, Ohio Players, Stylistics, etc; and now, solo recording artist.

Making his first trip to North Wales in the United Kingdom in October of 2009, "Smoke" did an impromptu performance of "That's What Love Does", a song that is well known on the UK dance scene. He returned to North Wales to do an encore performance in March, 2010, less than six months after his first performance.

"Smoke" resides in the Philadelphia area and continues to be active in keeping the sound of Philadelphia alive. He is working on completing his second solo CD that is scheduled for release September 2010. After completing the CD, he will return to performing.

Whether it be a funky, mid-tempo groove, a hip-hop inspired cut, or a heartfelt ballad, "Smoke" delivers, as only "Smoke" can, Smokin' Sounds With A Message You Can Dance To!!!
